Illinois ECE alumnus Bryan Ingram (BSEE '86) and his wife Patti pledged $1 million for the Ubben Basketball Complex renovation and expansion project. According to an article from the University of Illinois Athletics, this project will add about 40,000 square feet to the existing building including a new coach's office space, entry lobby, and two new half courts, while remodeling large portions of the existing space. Additionally, locker rooms and player lounges sizes will be significantly increased along with the addition of a state-of-the-art sports medicine area.

"Even prior to attending the University of Illinois, I greatly admired its standards of excellence in both athletics and academics," Ingram said to the University of Illinois Athletics. "As a lifelong Illini sports fan, I am proud to demonstrate that by supporting the Ubben Complex and our student-athletes that embody those high standards."

After graduating from Illinois ECE in 1986, Ingram earned his master's in engineering from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. Most recently, Ingram was the COO of Avago Technologies and the SVP of the Wireless Semiconductor Division at Broadcom Inc.
