Samuel W. Archer
Samuel W. Archer (BSEE '30) retired from the United Delco Division of General Motors Corporation in Detroit. Following his death in 1990 at the age of 82, his widow, Monzetta H. Archer, made an estate gift to the department in his memory. This gift is used to loan necessary funds to attend Illinois ECE. A one-time loan of up to $5,000 is available at no interest (0%) for students in need with above-average academic credentials.
Criteria
- Open to current undergraduate students of the department (30 hours)
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must show financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Employed 10 hours a week during the academic year and/or paid summer employment

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Univeristy of Illinois Office of Student Financial Aid Undergraduate Scholarship Supplement Form. Students who file the FAFSA and meet eligibility requirements are automatically considered.
