Distinguished Alumni Award
The ECE Distinguished Alumni Award honors Illinois ECE graduates who have made professional and technical contributions that bring distinction to themselves, the department, and the University. The award is presented each year at the Fall Alumni Awards Banquet.
Young Alumni Achievement Award
Established in 1999, the ECE Young Alumni Achievement Award recognizes young alumni (younger than 40 years old as of April 1 in the year of the award) who have made outstanding professional contributions to their fields since graduating from Illinois ECE. One or two Young Alumni Achievement Awards are presented each year at the Fall Alumni Awards Banquet.
Marcia Peterman ECE Award
Marcia Peterman began her career at Illinois in 1930 as ECE's (then known as the Electrical Engineering Department) first clerk-stenographer. She later served as supervisor of clerical staff and as secretary and adviser to four department heads. Marcia provided help and guidance to generations of students and alumni. She retired from ECE in 1983.
To recognize Marcia's devotion to the department, the ECE Alumni Board annually presents the Marcia Peterman ECE Award to a deserving alumnus, faculty or staff member in recognition of outstanding service to the department and its students, faculty, and alumni.
