Mast, Dan

Dan Mast (BSEE ’84) spent 26 years working in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at ILLINOIS. During his tenure at ECE ILLINOIS he worked tirelessly on keeping instructional labs and equipment updated in an effort to enhance and support hands-on student learning experiences and increase access. ECE ILLINOIS’ implementation of electronic door locks to allow students more access, and the way ECE supports students as they explore their passions in the fields of electrical and computer engineering are two areas Mast says he takes much pride in contributing to during his years in the

department. Mast had been around the department since he was a young child, when he’d accompany his father, Professor Emeritus Edward Mast, and spent time in labs at Everitt. Mast retired in 2014
