Engineering Open House 2014 is scheduled for March 14-15 on the Illinois campus.
The open house will have more than 250 exhibits this year, ranging from concrete crushing to Newtonian fluid demonstrations. Open hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 14, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15.
The open house will have several alumni-focused features.
The Engineering Student Alumni Ambassadors will have a Welcome Center on the third floor of Engineering Hall both Friday and Saturday during the open house. It’s open to all alumni.
Andreas C. Cangellaris, the dean of Engineering at Illinois, will address alumni 1:30-2 p.m. Friday, March 14, in Room 1122 of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
Sparking Connections, which is open to all alumni who were involved in Engineering Open House during their time at Illinois, is scheduled from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Friday in Foellinger Auditorium.
Alumni can also RSVP by clicking this link. Alumni RSVPs allow student volunteers to point out programs alums might be interested in during the open house. It also allows alumni to connect better with current students and the college.
Several ECE students will also participate in the AMD Jerry Sanders Design Competition. It's scheduled from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Friday, March 14, and from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday, March 15, in the Kenney Gym Annex. Click here to read the ECE ILLINOIS story about them.
