Description
Alumnus Dr. Ok Kyun Kim (BSEE ’64, MSEE ’66) earned a bachelor’s in mining engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1958, and then came to the University of Illinois. Here he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering and worked in the Antenna Laboratory, mentored by Professor John Dyson. Dr. Kim later earned a PhD from Michigan State University and worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas. In 1979, he founded EM Technologies, Inc. and grew the company to become a leader in manufacturing antennas for radio communication industries.
