Coding theory with emphasis on the algebraic theory of cyclic codes using finite field arithmetic, decoding of BCH and RS codes, finite field Fourier transform and algebraic geometry codes, convolutional codes, and trellis decoding algorithms. Course Information: Prerequisite: MATH 417.
