Professor Li named IEEE Fellow
ECE ILLINOIS Professor Xiuling Li has been selected by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as an IEEE Fellow, effective as of Jan. 1, 2017.
The IEEE Fellowship is one of the most prestigious honors of the group, bestowed upon a very limited number of Senior Members who have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science, and technology.
Prof. Li has been recognized her contributions to semiconductor nanomaterials for electronic and photonic applications. Her research focuses on developing innovative semiconductor structures and device concepts through both bottom-up and top-down approaches.
“I am totally humbled by this recognition and grateful for all the support I have received from colleagues on and off our campus,” Li said. “This is an honor that also belongs to my students and postdocs. I’m proud of what we have accomplished together.”
Li has been an IEEE Senior Member since 2008, served on the IEEE Photonics Society Board of Governors from 2014-16, and was an IEEE Nanotechnology Council Distinguished Lecturer from 2014-15 before recieving her IEEE Fellowship this year.
