"Astronomical Telescopes and Our Place In the Universe"

The telescope was invented a bit more than 400 years ago. Galileo’s use of one for astronomy revolutionized our understanding of the universe and of terrestrial phenomena. The first telescopes were primitive, and each technological advance enabled new discoveries. Prof. Jon Thaler describes the history of these advances and what is planned for the future.
