ECE ILLINOIS Professor Michael L Oelze has recently accepted the position of Associate Head for Graduate Affairs at ECE ILLINOIS, with his appointment beginning June 1, 2018.
Oelze served many years on the departmental Graduate Committees and several faculty search committees and has been honored many times on the "List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent By Their Students."
His research focuses primarily in the fields of biomedical imaging, bioengineering, and acoustics. He has also worked with ultrasound/tissue interaction, including cancer detection using quantitative ultrasound, ultrasound microscopy, bioeffects of ultrasound, ultrasound-based therapies, and coded excitation. Oelze's experience will help him maintain excellence and success with the graduate programs. Oelze is also affiliated with the Beckman Institute and CSL.
Professor Nitin H Vaidya formerly served as the ECE ILLINOIS Associate Head for Graduate Affairs. During this time, he worked closely with the Graduate Committee to help make several important changes, ensuring the programs best prepared students for careers in academia and industry. He was also instrumental in further developing the ECE ILLINOIS professional Master of Engineering program. Vaidya is also affiliated with the CSL.
