Molly M. Tracy has been named Associate Dean for Advancement for the College of Engineering, pending approval of the Board of Trustees.

“Molly has been serving as Interim Associate Dean since March, and has done a tremendous job,” stated Ilesanmi Adesida, dean of the College of Engineering. “Molly has extensive knowledge of the campus and the college and will be a great addition to our Engineering Administration team.”

Tracy came to the University of Illinois as an undergraduate in 1980, earning a bachelors’ degree in accountancy, and later, an MBA from the Executive MBA Program. She served most recently as the first associate director of the Information Trust Institute (ITI) at Illinois, where she is responsible for overseeing the institute’s day-to-day operations, management of stakeholder relationships, and the acquisition of resources for the research and education programs. Before joining ITI, Tracy was associate dean of administration and technology for the College of Education, and had previously served for 11 years as assistant to the head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

“The opportunity to serve the college, its faculty and its students in this new role--and to play a part in supporting the continued prominence of Engineering at Illinois--is a privilege,” Tracy remarked. “I look forward to continued collaborations and partnerships with alumni, corporate supporters, and other friends of the college.”

In addition to her unit and college-level assignments, she currently serves on the campus Board of Advisors for the Office of Technology Management (OTM), the Campus Conflict Review Committee, and the Office of Math, Science and Technology Education (MSTE) Board of Advisors.

The Office of Engineering Advancement supports the mission of the college and its departments by facilitating individual and corporate gifts and advancing alumni relations. The University of Illinois and the college are currently in the midst of a capital campaign, “Brilliant Futures: The Campaign for the University of Illinois” which hopes to raise $325 million for the College of Engineering by December 2011.
