ECE ILLINOIS CompE undergraduate Dashiell Kaemon Kosaka is part of an Illinois team that has been selected for season 3 of Make 48, a nationally televised show where students compete to develop an idea, create a prototype, and present their product to a panel of judges in 48 hours.

Along with Illinois students Will Jones, Susie Liu, and Yuxuan Tang, Kosaka's team will face off against teams from 11 other universities, including Georgetown, Rice, Miami (FL), Connecticut and more. All four students are either staff or volunteers at the Illinois MakerLab.

Three winning teams will be chosen based on product originality, problem solution, marketability, and other factors. The rest of the season will focus on the process of bringing these products onto the market.

"These students are in the midst of learning the skills needed to become innovators and entrepreneurs," said Tim Perra, Vice President of Public Affairs for Stanley Black and Decker. "They’re going to be put to the test like never before in a 48-hour competition."

The show films at Stanley Black and Decker Innovation Lab in Towson, Maryland. Make 48 is presented and distributed to public television stations nationwide. The first two seasons are airing on PBS.
