Schwing was one of the four recipients of the Dean's Award for Research by an Assistant Professor. This award recognizes assistant professors who have exceptional research accomplishments over the last year. Schwing's research is primarily focused on machine learning and computer version. He is particularly interested in algorithms for prediction with and learning of non-linear (deep nets), multivariate and structured distributions, and their application in numerous tasks such as 3D scene understanding from a single image.

Radhakrishnan was one of the two recipients of the Rose Award for Teaching Excellence. Established by an anonymous alumnus, this award is intended to foster and reward excellence in undergraduate teaching in the College of Engineering. It recognizes teachers who excel at motivating freshmen and sophomore students to learn and appreciate the principles of engineering. Radhakrishnan has taught courses in areas related to Circuits and Signal Processing. In his teaching, he focuses on encouraging students to explore, not be afraid to make mistakes, learn from their mistakes, and find their passion. He has also previously received the George Anner Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.
