David Yang is CEO and co-founder of Fullstack Academy, a YCombinator-backed tech-skills bootcamp focused on getting students great tech careers. Since its founding in 2013, Fullstack Academy has graduated 3000+ students who now work at companies like Google, Facebook, Palantir, Segment and Airbnb. Before Fullstack Academy, David built and managed engineering teams for several years at
companies like Gilt Groupe, RecycleBank and BrightWire Media. David previously worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo! and has always enjoyed mentoring and growing great engineers.
David met his co-founder, Nimit Maru, on the first day of college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign while they were running for office in the Engineering Freshman Committee as part of Engineering Council. While a student, David was editor-in-chief of the Technograph engineering magazine and a member of Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), Engineering Council, IEEE, Triangle Fraternity, the
Chancellor’s Honors Program and the James Scholars Program. David graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2004 in Electrical Engineering and was also a graduate of University Laboratory High School in 2000.
