Wen-mei W. Hwu Graduate Award

DESCRIPTION:
The Wen-mei Hwu Award was established by his former students and members of the IMPACT group, to honor their faculty mentor, a member of the electrical and computer engineering faculty for over 20 years. He also served in multiple roles supporting ECE and the Grainger College of Engineering; Acting Department Head in ECE, Chief Scientist-Parallel Computing Institute, Sanders III AMD Endowed Chair, Woeltge Professor of ECE, Research Professor in the Coordinated Science Lab, and lead of the Center for Cognitive Computing Systems Research (C3SR) IBM/Illinois. This award is to be made annually in his honor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Priority given to graduate students with a demonstrated interest or expertise in the area of computer engineering or related topics.

SELECTION PROCESS:
All applications for the Award will be reviewed by the ECE Graduate Awards and Fellowship Committee based on the above criteria.
AWARD:
The recipient(s) will be recognized during an annual Student Awards Banquet in the spring. All student recipients are featured on the second floor of the ECE Building's Student Honors Wall.
