Simeon Bogdanov
Simeon Bogdanov
Simeon BogdanovAssistant Professor has received his Ph.D. from the group of Manijeh Razeghi at Northwestern University in 2014 and did his postdoctoral research in the group of Vladimir M. Shalaev at Purdue University. His research interests cover quantum nanophotonics, metamaterials, and semiconductor physics. His achievements include the realization of the brightest room-temperature single-photon source based on a single nitrogen-vacancy color center in diamond and the fabrication of InAs/GaSb superlattice photodetectors operating at 10 µm with the world's best sensitivity for this material system. Simeon's future research program will be focused on studying novel quantum, plasmonics and nonlinear optical phenomena at the nanoscale. This research will be applied to develop fast integrated optical devices for quantum photonics and nanosensing.  He will be joining ECE ILLINOIS January 2020.

Saurabh Gupta
Saurabh Gupta
Saurabh Gupta, Assistant Professor
Saurabh has joined ECE ILLINOIS as a tenure track Assistant Professor in August 2019. Saurabh will also have an affiliate appointment with the Coordinated Science Laboratory where his office will be located. His research is in computer vision, machine learning, and robotics. He received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in Computer Science.

Nick Kani
Nick Kani
Nick Kani, Research Assistant Professor Nick will join ECE as a Research Assistant Professor. He will also have an appointment with the Coordinated Science Laboratory. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017.
