Laurie Ann Fisher has spent the past 29 years with ECE ILLINOIS, taking care of faculty and graduate students. From admissions to advising to graduation, Laurie has played a major role in our students’ academic lives. Laurie officially retired from ECE ILLINOIS last month. Before she left, we asked her questions - some serious, some not. Here are her answers.
How would students, staff, and faculty remember you from your first year at ECE? As just a blonde 25-year-old.
How would you like to be remembered now? As a person anyone could go to for any help.
What’s been the aspect of your career you’re most proud of? I felt my proudest when the Editorial Services Department would reach out to let me know that a student included me in their thesis acknowledgment.
Where would you like to visit? Italy
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Never ever give up and follow those dreams!
What time of day are you most productive? I'm pretty productive most of the day.
What’s your pet peeve? That someone won't listen to your ideas or what you have to say.
We all wish Laurie the best with the next chapter in her life.
