Joe will discuss the disruptive changes happening in the storage world as the industry moves from spinning disc magnetic media to NAND storage and towards 3D Xpoint Storage. Joe will review the latencies and throughput associated with each storage option. Joe will also discuss the electrical access patterns and the paradigm changes happening in the way storage is accessed. Finally – Joe will explore the effect that the disruption will have on industries including the enablement of machine learning on very large datasets.
Joe is one of the founders and CTO of Ocient, a venture-backed startup in Chicago building software that runs the fastest data systems on the planet.
