Becky Webb is a Senior Engineer at Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. Becky joined ComEd in 2005 after receiving both her BSEE in 2003 and MSEE in 2005 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Becky has held engineering positions in the Transmission Planning Interconnections and System Studies (ISS) group and the Transmission Reinforcement Planning group at ComEd. She has performed power flow simulations and complex voltage and transient stability studies to identify reinforcement projects to maintain the reliable service of the transmission system in the future. She obtained her Professional Engineer license in 2008.
Becky has also expressed an interest in the development of future engineers. She maintains her connection with the University of Illinois College of Engineering through her support of recruitment activities, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Alumni Association Freshman Calling Program, the ECE Power Affiliates Program, and the Engineering Open House. She has served as the first Professional Development Chair on the executive board on a ComEd professional group devoted to the development of young engineers. She has also been a member of the planning committee for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES) Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) program at the 2008 IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference, leading the organization of the evening networking event. She served as a panelist for discussions regarding career development for young engineers at two SWE National Conferences and presented a talk on the electric transmission system at the 2013 SWE National Conference. Most recently Becky was awarded the IEEE PES Chapter Outstanding GOLD Engineer Award in 2012 for her continued technical development as a transmission planning engineer and her contributions to the development of current and future engineers.
